Exothermic welding introduction
Exothermic welding is a simple, effient, high-quality and self-contained method for connecting metal conductor.
LEDWELD exothermic welding is a simple, efficient, high-quality and self contained method for connecting metal conductor. The compact process requires no external power or heat source making it highly portable and easy to use. LEDWELD exothermic welding process is achieved by pouring superheated molten copper alloy (approximately 3000C) on and around the conductors to be connected according to the aluminothermy process (2Al + 3Cuo--------------3Cu + Al2O3). The reaction is controlled within a graphite mould and it only takes a few seconds. Generally, one single mold has a life-expectancy of 50 times (up to 100 times if appropriately maintained).
Exothermic welding Feature
1. The operation is safe and there is no need for professional skill or special protection, so it is quite easy with equipped tools.
2. It's don't need other energy , convenient carrying, high operating efficiency.
3. The connector uses metallic copper of high purity which has strong resistance of corrosion.
4. The standard welding flux for grounding system
This is how it works
The Mold (1) features a Crucible (2), a Tap Hole (3) and a Weld Cavity (4).The Conductors (5) and (6) to be joined, are located in the Weld Cavity as shown, and the Mold is closed. A steel Retaining Disc (7)is located in the bottom of the crucible, to retain the Weld Powder (8) and Starting Power (9) which are poured in on the top.
